Afternoon Announcements September 30, 2008Last call for parents to please turn in the income surveys that were sent with the September newsletter. The latest we can accept them is October 7. These surveys are used for statistical planning only by the diocesan school office and are kept strictly confidential. A reminder to all volleyball players that practice begins at 3:15. There is a service hour opportunity to help with Pumpkin Fest. This event happens October 10th, 11th and 12th. Help will be needed with a costume parade, a children’s activities tent, an information booth, balloons, raffle ticket sellers, ticket seller booths, glow-stick sellers, park set up and clean up. Students may volunteer to help with any of these. Volunteers will be needed for 2 or 3 hour shifts. Contact information is in the office. You may also sign up for a time in the office. There will be campus ministry this week at 7:30 pm tomorrow evening. The winning ambassador t-shirt design is posted on the counter in the main office. The design won by one vote. The shirts will be purple with the design in silver metallic on the front and “Ambassador” on the back. Ambassadors and mentors need to stop by the office by Friday at 3:00 pm to order their shirt. The cost is $6.00. Do you ever feel spiritually in need of a rest? If so, please consider spending some time in adoration before the Holy Eucharist. The Mir House grounds contain a chapel that is used for Perpetual Adoration and there is always a need for people to sign up for a time to spend an hour in the presence of the Lord. Mir House is located on east Frederick across from Moffett’s Nursery. For contact information see the flyer that is posted at the office. You may also get information about Perpetual Adoration in your religion classroom. Come experience the peace. Attention all “OZ” cast members. The next rehearsal is tomorrow 7-8:30. The Missouri Right to Life Pony Express Chapter will sponsor a Life Chain consisting of concerned citizens, of all ages, who are willing to spend one hour to stand in public witness and in personal prayer for unborn babies that are in danger of abortion. This annual Life Chain event will be on Sunday, October 5th, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Participants will hold posters and stand on the sidewalk along Frederick. If you would like to be part of this witness please be in Bishop LeBlond’s west parking lot on October 5th by 1:45 to receive your poster. All faculty and students are welcome to stand against abortion. Science club officers will meet at 7:30 Friday morning. Tomorrow we will have all 8 classes and dismiss at 11:55 so teachers can meet for North Central accreditation work. Drama club officers will meet tomorrow morning at 7:20. Congrats to the frosh, JV & varsity volleyball teams on their victories over East Buchanan last night. Congrats to varsity volleyball player Cydney Bush for demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship & being recognized by Pembroke Hill High School. Congrats to the tennis team on their win 9-0 over Maryville. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.......Amen! For peace in our world, we pray…. Morning Announcements Good morning! Happy Homecoming Week! It’s Spirit Day! Happy Birthday tomorrow to Morgan Hall. St. Pius put up a gallant fight, but in the end the Bishop LeBlond tennis team triumphed over the Warriors yesterday in north Kansas City. The varsity remains unbeaten, while the junior varsity players who participated won as well, running their record to 8-1. No tennis practice this afternoon; enjoy Homecoming festivities. Players with order forms should please turn them in to Dr. Losson sometime today. After the pep rally, tennis players should please stay a few minutes to help take down homecoming decorations. The more people who help with this, the quicker it will go. Thanks to all who voted for Kayla Grieshaber who is the Athlete of the Week.
