We pray for any special intentions:
Today is the feast of Saint Vincent. He died a martyr during the Diocletian persecution. Today also marks the 31st anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision that legalized abortion. Let us pray for an end to abortion. We pray for the millions of babies who have been killed through abortion. We pray for those who have had abortions and those who are considering abortions. We pray in thanksgiving for all who have chosen to bring their children to birth.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…Amen.
The Act of Love: O my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul because you are all-good and worthy of my love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured.
Almighty God, you gave St. Vincent the courage to endure death for the sake of the gospel. As we mark the anniversary of legalized abortion, help each of us to be honest in our beliefs and thus, in word and in action, respect all life that is given to us. Amen.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Today is the feast of St. John Neumann. St. John was born in 1811. At an early age he showed signs of great intelligence coupled with an interest in religious life. As a seminarian he desired to leave Europe and come to the New World. He was ordained in New York in 1836. As a parish priest and as a Bishop, St. John is remembered for his dedication to Catholic schools. He has inspired the church for many years with his writings. He died in 1860 and became the first American bishop to be canonized.
Father, through the intercession of St. John help us to build community through our dedication to Catholic education and through our witness of your love. Amen.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
