THE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY
The Christian Brothers Alumni Board in conjunction with the Convent of the Sacred Heart and Bishop LeBlond have been working together to bring the three catholic schools together as pertaining to Alumni gatherings. This past April, through the efforts of the Board, Convent and the principal of LeBlond, Dr. Solon Haynes, we gathered for the Christian Brother Alumni banquet to honor the jubilee classes from LeBlond and CB. This was the CB Class of 62 and LeBlond’s class of 62 (second class) who were celebrating their 50th anniversary.
Dr. Haynes introduced the new Bishop LeBlond crest which honors the Christian Brothers, Convent of the Sacred Heart, Bishop LeBlond and the Benedictine nuns. It reflected the history and honors the tradition of Catholic secondary education in St. Joseph. We will be hosting the 146th banquet on April 6, 2013 where we will honor the jubilee classes of 1963. Committee planning is well under way and invitations will be sent out in February, 2013. The last Convent of the Sacred Heart class graduated in 1960 and Christian Brothers' last class was 1970. We would like for all alumni of the three schools to bring their current addresses up to date. This helps our mailing list and provides you with the latest information on what is happening in the Catholic school community. There is an old saying that you may have heard, “Don’t forget where you came from”.
