Boys Swimming

Mrs. Kaye Gach is the swimming coach at Bishop LeBlond. Swimmers practice in the mornings before school at the YMCA. Home meets are also held at the YMCA. LB swimmers have qualified for the state meet in past years.

Highlights Sept. 19-23: The LeBlond boy’s swimming team traveled to Blue Springs South on September 21st. At this swim meet, they also competed against Central and St. Pius. The medley relay team of Jeffrey Green, Caleb Gach, Austin Hughes, and Josh Crotty placed 7th. Caleb Gach placed 3rd in the 200 individual medley.

The LeBlond boys swimming team participated in the North Kansas City JV Invitational on Saturday, September 24th. Caleb Gach placed 6th in the 500 freestyle and 3rd in the 200 freestyle.

Highlights Sept. 12-16:  At the September 10th Independence Invitational, Caleb Gach placed 5th in the 200 individual medley and 12th in the 100 breaststroke, and Austin Hughes placed 3rd in the 100 breaststroke. The relay team of Jeffrey Green, Josh Crotty, Hughes and Gach placed 9th in the 200 medley relay and 12th in the 200 free relay. As a team, LeBlond placed 11th out of 22 teams. Great job, Eagles!

At the September 14th Kearney/Central swim meet, Josh Crotty placed 10th in freestyle, Caleb Gach placed 7th in the 100 butterfly and 4th in the 400 freestyle, and Jeffrey Green placed 9th in the 200 freestyle and 3rd in the backstroke. The relay team of Gach, Green, Crotty and Nicholas Kempf placed 5th in the 200 freestyle. Great job, Eagles!

The LeBlond boy’s swim team traveled to Staley High on Wednesday, August 31st. Austin Hughes got 10th place in the 50 yard freestyle and 9th in the 100 yard backstroke. Jeffrey Green got 17th place in the 50 yard freestyle and 16th in the 100 yard freestyle. Caleb Gach got 6th place in the 200 yard freestyle and 5th in the 100 yard breaststroke. Great job, Eagles!
