The Bishop LeBlond Academic Team competes in MSHSAA sanctioned academic team/quiz bowl events. LeBlond students regularly have earned all-district and all-state academic team honors. Practices for academic team are held before school. Interested students should listen to the announcements for practice times. Mrs. Lisa Alkier and Mrs. Shelly Wineinger are the team coaches.
The JV Academic Team won first place at the February 4 competition in Savannah. Team members are: Chris Crawford (Captain), Catherine Wheeler, Matthew Hall, Theron Benson, Molly Fitzpatrick and Jackson Pollard.
Varsity team members are: Alex Luke (Captain), Hannah Looney, Austin Fangman, Matt Findley, Emily Schmitter & Paul Modlin
The team raises funds by serving meals at Culver's restaurant. Remaining dates are February 13, March 26 and April 2. Between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. patrons can dine-in or drive-through and a portion of sales will be donated to the Academic Team!
